Analisis Dampak Perilaku Masyarakat Pengguna Media Sosial Sebagai Sarana Judi Online Dihubungkan Dengan Undang-Undang No. 1 Tahun 2024 Tentang Informasi Transaksi Elektronik (ITE) Pasal 27 Ayat 2 Dan Kitab Undang Undang Hukum Pidana (KUHP) Pasal 303 Tentang Perjudian

The rapid development of information and communication technology has brought various conveniences to people's lives. However, on the other hand, this progress also has negative impacts, one of which is the rise of online gambling practices that utilize social media as an operational tool. This study aims to analyze the impact of community behavior, especially teenagers as active users of social media, who are involved in online gambling activities, as well as reviewing the legal aspects that regulate it through the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE) Article 27 Paragraph (2) and the Criminal Code (KUHP) Article 303 concerning gambling.
The methods used in this research are normative and empirical juridical. The normative juridical approach is used to analyze applicable laws and regulations regarding prohibitions and sanctions against online gambling practices. Meanwhile, the empirical juridical approach is used to examine the social realities occurring in society, particularly among adolescents, regarding deviant behavior in using social media for gambling purposes.
The research results show that the use of social media as a means of online gambling by adolescents is classified as deviant behavior that violates social and legal norms. This activity not only impacts the legal aspects but also causes psychological, moral, and economic harm to the perpetrators. On the other hand, the effectiveness of law enforcement for violations of Article 27 Paragraph (2) of the ITE Law and Article 303 of the Criminal Code remains suboptimal due to technological constraints, lack of digital literacy, and weak oversight of online activities. Therefore, synergy is needed between the government, law enforcement officials, educational institutions, and the community to prevent and address the misuse of social media for online gambling practices.
